Arsenal's striker Viktor Gyokeres is currently in a "fascinating" transfer situation this summer, with the possibility of a sale remaining open if the right price is met, according to transfer news expert Ben Jacobs.
While sources close to the situation suggest Gyokeres is unlikely to depart and there's minimal prospect of a swap deal involving Atlético Madrid's Julian Alvarez, Jacobs has indicated the situation is more fluid than initially reported.
Speaking to Latte Firm, Jacobs elaborated on Gyokeres' potential availability: "Viktor Gyokeres is a fascinating situation. He might be available on the market for the right price. With Gyokeres, if it hit a certain number, Arsenal wouldn’t reject out of hand. I don’t think he’s for sale, but I don’t think he’s untouchable."
Despite this, current information indicates that Arsenal is not actively looking to offload the Swedish international, and the player himself is not pushing for an exit just one year after his arrival from Sporting Lisbon.
Gyokeres experienced a somewhat mixed first season with the Gunners. While theoretically, he would have a price tag, no active talks are currently underway, and the current buzz is largely considered noise, with both the club and the player focused on preparing for the upcoming 2026/27 season together.
The potential of a deal involving Julian Alvarez also appears highly ambitious at this stage, with Atlético Madrid reportedly unwilling to sell and having lodged a complaint with FIFA regarding Barcelona's approach for the player.
