Nottingham Forest are reportedly in the race to sign Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira, who is expected to leave the club permanently following his loan spell at Hamburg.

While Hamburg were keen to make Vieira's move permanent, Forest have also lodged an offer for the Portuguese playmaker, according to Fussball Transfers. Vieira initially showed promise at Arsenal but struggled for consistent game time, leading to loan spells back at Porto and then with Hamburg in the Bundesliga.

Vieira's performances in Germany have apparently impressed, making him an attractive target for clubs like Nottingham Forest who believe he could bolster their squad. His potential departure aligns with Arsenal's strategy to fine-tune their squad after a successful Premier League title win and Champions League final appearance.

Arsenal are anticipated to offload several players this summer as Mikel Arteta aims to reshape the team. Reports suggest Leandro Trossard could also be on his way out to Besiktas, with talks reportedly progressing. Doubts also linger over the futures of established first-team players like Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Ben White.

The sale of loaned-out players such as Vieira and Reiss Nelson is seen as a sensible move to generate funds for potential new signings. Arsenal are reportedly targeting attacking reinforcements, with links to players like Bradley Barcola and Morgan Rogers, as well as Leicester City's Jeremy Monga.

With significant spending anticipated, balancing the books through player sales will be crucial for Arsenal, especially if they plan to bring in more high-profile talent this summer.
