Rabat - Croatia’s national football team has officially qualified for the World Cup’s round of 16 after its group stage game with Belgium ended with a 0-0 deadlock.
The ball possession was evenly split between Belgium and the 2018 World Cup runners-up, but neither of the teams managed to break the deadlock and score a goal.
The game was part of the two team’s last group F game, the final chance for the squad to advance to the tournament’s next round.
Croatia was close to being awarded a penalty kick but it was ruled out as offside after a VAR review.
Meanwhile, Belgium’s Red Devils were eliminated from the tournament as they ranked third in Group F’s standings.
Morocco’s national team won today their game against Canada 2-1, leading the group standings, while Croatia followed in the second spot.
The Canadian team was already eliminated from the World Cup ahead of today’s match, as they lost to Belgium 1-0 and Croatia 4-1.
Morocco is set to lock horns with Group E runners-up on December 6, while Croatia will play against Group E winners.
The ongoing Qatar World Cup has reached the final round of the group stage, slowly determining the teams who will progress to the next round.
