 Saudi Arabia, China sign agreements on hydrogen energy, direct investment

Saudi Arabia and China have signed several memorandums of understanding including on hydrogen energy and encouragement of direct investment during Xi Jinping’s visit to the Kingdom, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

Earlier on Thursday, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed Xi, who arrived on Riyadh on Wednesday, at al-Yamamah Palace where they discussed recent regional and international developments as well joint efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

After their meeting, which was also attended by Saudi and Chinese officials, the Crown Prince and Xi witnessed signing several agreements and MoUs.

The agreements signed include a plan to harmonize between the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and China’s Road and Belt Initiative and an agreement on judicial cooperation in civil, commercial and
personal status matters.

The two countries also signed a memorandum of cooperation to teach the Chinese language.

Afterward, a ceremony was held to award Xi an honorary doctorate from King Saud University.ش
