US Oil Contract WTI Widens Losses, Plunges 5%

Oil prices widened their losses Wednesday, falling by more than five percent as concerns over the banking sector raised fears of a global recession.


The two world oil benchmarks were at their lowest since December 2021, with West Texas Intermediate (WTI) dropping 5.4 percent to $67.47 and the international benchmark Brent falling by 5.1 percent to $75.53 at around 1500 GMT.
