The Negmar Cicek departs from the port of Chornomorsk. It will deliver 30,000 tonnes of wheat to Yemen as part of humanitarian aid.

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi stated this at a briefing in the port of Chornomorsk, Ukrinform reports.

"I would like to thank the United States, Spain, and France for supporting this initiative. It is for their money that today's ship is being sent. I am also grateful to the professional team of the World Food Programme," Solskyi said.

The minister added that the Grain from Ukraine program is operating on a permanent basis. Now, vessels leave Odesa ports every month.

According to Solskyi, the Grain from Ukraine is important for many reasons.

"First of all, this is an important humanitarian mission that supports the world countries in such a difficult time. The second aspect is about the possibility of continuing the grain initiative," he said.

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solskyi with Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink, Ambassador of Spain to Ukraine Ricardo Lopez-Aranda Jagu, Deputy Chief of Mission (French embassy in Ukraine) Benjamin Roehrig, and Deputy Director of the World Food Program in Ukraine Marianne Ward visited the Chornomorsk port on March 24, where the Negmar Cicek is preparing to depart for Yemen.

As reported, 43 countries have already joined the Grain from Ukraine program.
