Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that an explosion took place at one of its ammunition depots in Iran’s Semnan province on Tuesday, killing two people and injuring three others.
The explosion occurred during the sorting of defective ammunition, resulting in the deaths of two IRGC members, Jamal Shabestani and Ali Alihosseini, the IRGC said in a statement carried by state media.
Three other IRGC members have also been hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the explosion, it added.
The statement did not provide any further details.
