Iran-backed Houthis release 7 members of Al-Qaeda

The Iran-backed Houthis released seven members of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization in the past two days after subjecting them to a sectarian course, raising questions about the relationship between the Houthis and Al-Qaeda.

Local sources in AL-Baydha province told Khabar Agency that the Houthis released seven members affiliated with the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization, who hail from Qifa area in Radaa district, the capital of Al-Baydha province, on Wednesday and Thursday.

According to the sources, the militias subjected the Al-Qaeda members to a Houthi sectarian course for a period of 45 days in one of their headquarters.

Houthi Security leaders claimed that they arrested the seven members about two months ago during a successful operation in Qifa area, and they were transferred to the prisons of Sanaa. Hoever, sources said they were interrogated for only five days before being sent to a training course for 45 days.
