The Iran-backed Houthis have evacuated the Yemeni embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus. according to Al Hadath TV.
The channel, citing private sources, stated that the Syrian government requested that the Houthis vacate the embassy of the Yemeni Republic and prepare to leave, after the militias had used it as their representative office for years.
It added that the Houthis have actually started evacuating the embassy, amidst widespread looting of its contents, despite instructions from the Syrian government not to take any of its devices, belongings, or diplomatic vehicles, and to leave the country at the earliest opportunity.
The channel mentioned that Houthi leaders, including Yasser Al-Mahalhal, Radwan Al-Haimi, Muath Al-Qurashi, and Ammar Ismail, have begun looting the embassy's contents, despite instructions from the Syrian authorities to preserve its assets and diplomatic vehicles owned by the Yemeni government.
Al Hadath TV confirmed the departure of a representative of the Houthi militia, who impersonated the ambassador called "Abdullah Sabri," a week ago to Beirut under the pretext of receiving medical treatment.
Informed sources said that this comes as a translation of the Arab reconciliation atmosphere led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and after two months of a meeting between the foreign ministers of Yemen and Syria in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to discuss the relationship between the two countries.
