Any offloading of ships or oil transfers at Houthi-controlled ports constitutes a potential violation of U.S. law and may result in sanctions.
On March 5, 2025, the U.S. State Department formally designated (the Houthis) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO), fulfilling a critical national security priority of the Trump administration.
As mandated by Executive Order 14175, the Houthis' terrorist activities directly threaten: American lives in the Middle East, the security of our regional allies, and the free flow of international commerce through vital maritime routes.
