Probe on after Yemen envoy in Nairobi collapses, dies in his house

Police are investigating an incident where a Yemen envoy in Nairobi collapsed and died in his house.

According to police, Mohamed Nabil, 52 and who was an attaché at the Yemen Embassy in Nairobi, collapsed and died in his house.

His wife said he developed breathing difficulties before he collapsed on Sunday, May 25 night in their house in Kilimani area.

The wife raised an alarm before neigbours and an ambulance arrived for help.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His family told police the deceased had no known illness.

Police said they are yet to know the cause of the death. Police visited the scene and declared they are investigating the death.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations, police said.

The team wants to know where he had been, those he interacted with and what he ate.

This will help to solve the saga, police said.

Yemen is embroiled in a leadership tussle, which has left the country in chaos.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the death of a Korean man in Ngara area, Nairobi.

The body of Shin Yoo, 52, was found in his bathroom at an apartment in the area.

The deceased was in the company of a fellow South Korean man and had booked the apartment for a week while on holiday in Kenya.

The colleague told police they had dinner and went to sleep in separate rooms.

The following day, he went to wake the deceased and found him missing from his bed.

He later discovered him lying dead in the bathroom and called for help, where medical officials declared him dead.

Police were called to the scene and found the body lying in the bathroom before it was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

The Korean embassy in Nairobi was informed of the incident and visited the scene.

No further details have been revealed about the sudden death.

The family said the body was to be flown to Seoul for burial.
