Spurs Eyeing Free Transfer for Veteran Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly in advanced talks to sign Burnley goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on a free transfer, aiming to bring in experienced reinforcements under new manager Roberto De Zerbi.

The 37-year-old former Newcastle United shot-stopper has spent recent seasons at Turf Moor, featuring prominently for Burnley despite their relegation from the Premier League. With his contract expiring on June 30, Dubravka is available without a transfer fee, making him a priority target for Spurs.

Dubravka's imminent arrival is seen as a strategic move to add crucial top-flight experience and maturity to Tottenham's goalkeeping department, especially with Guglielmo Vicario reportedly attracting strong interest from Inter Milan. This free transfer allows the club to bolster its squad while focusing financial resources on other areas of De Zerbi's tactical system.

The Slovakian international boasts significant Premier League experience, having spent six successful years at Newcastle United where he made over 130 appearances and earned the club's Player of the Year award. He also had a brief stint at Manchester United, giving him firsthand knowledge of playing for a top club.

Despite Dubravka's extensive resume, he is expected to serve as a backup. Young Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is anticipated to remain Tottenham's starting number one. Kinsky, who took over the starting role in the latter half of the season and finished strongly, is expected to benefit from Dubravka's mentorship as he solidifies his position and enhances the club's defensive depth.
