Barcelona has reportedly snagged personal terms with Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi and has officially submitted a bid for the player, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. Adeyemi has apparently made it clear he's not extending his contract with Dortmund and is solely focused on a move to the Catalan giants.
With Adeyemi's current contract set to expire in 2027, Borussia Dortmund might feel the heat to accept a reasonable offer now, rather than risk him walking away for free in just over a year. This development puts Barcelona in the driver's seat, seemingly ahead of Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United, who have previously shown interest.
Romano confirmed the news on X, stating, "Karim Adeyemi agreed terms with Barcelona and informed BVB he only wants Barça move. Adeyemi, out of contract in June 2027 and not planning to sign new deal. Barcelona sent an official bid to BVB to get Adeyemi now, working to get it done."
Adeyemi, who is 24 years old, has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga. He wrapped up last season with an impressive tally of ten goals and six assists. His potential transfer fee is expected to be relatively modest, especially considering the current inflated market for players.
While both Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with Adeyemi, it appears he wasn't a top priority for either club. The Gunners could certainly use his pace and skill in their attack, and Manchester United might benefit from adding depth to their forward line, though they may have other squad areas to address first.
