Manchester United is gearing up to announce two new signings on Friday: midfielder Andrey Santos and goalkeeper Karl Darlow. The Red Devils are making serious moves in the summer transfer window, aiming to quickly boost their midfield and goalkeeper ranks.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Andrey Santos has successfully completed his medical in Manchester. The Brazilian midfielder is slated to sign his contract on Friday morning, following the finalization of all legal agreements between United and Chelsea. The deal for the 22-year-old is reportedly worth £50 million, with Chelsea securing a 10% sell-on clause. Santos is expected to sign a long-term contract until June 2031, including an option for an additional year.
Meanwhile, United has also wrapped up a deal for veteran Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow. Romano has given this transfer his "here we go" seal of approval, indicating the 35-year-old will also sign his contract on Friday. Darlow arrives on a free transfer to provide experienced homegrown backup for starting keeper Senne Lammens. His arrival is also expected to pave the way for Altay Bayindir's exit, with Turkish club Besiktas reportedly leading the race for his signature.
The transfer activity doesn't stop there, as Manchester United is also close to securing a third signing. Atalanta midfielder Ederson is currently undergoing medical checks after an agreement was reached with the Serie A club for a €44 million (£38.8 million) transfer package. Romano indicated that a decision on Ederson's medical is expected this week. If he passes, Ederson will become United's third summer signing, further reinforcing the midfield as the club prepares for the new season and a return to Champions League football.
