Aston Villa in Talks to Sign Chelsea Striker Nicolas Jackson

Aston Villa are pushing to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg. The Midlands club is actively working on a deal to bring the Senegal international to Villa Park as manager Unai Emery looks to boost his attacking options for the new season.

Plettenberg reported on X that Villa is in ongoing discussions with both Jackson's representatives and Chelsea to hammer out the details of a transfer. The club is reportedly considering both a permanent transfer or a loan move for the 25-year-old forward.

Aston Villa is said to be open to various deal structures, including an outright purchase or a loan with an option or obligation to buy. While no agreement has been finalized yet, Villa's continued negotiations highlight their strong interest in securing Jackson before the transfer window shuts.

The potential move for Jackson is also linked to Chelsea's own transfer activity. Reports suggest that if Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso brings in Brighton striker Danny Welbeck, it could pave the way for Jackson's departure from Stamford Bridge, potentially limiting his playing time.

Chelsea's board is reportedly willing to let the Senegalese forward leave if a satisfactory offer comes in, presenting Aston Villa with a clear opportunity to make him their next summer signing.
