Spurs Set for Summer Clear-Out: Four More Stars Expected to Depart

Tottenham is gearing up for another wave of player exits this summer, with Cristian Romero and Djed Spence reportedly on the brink of sealing transfers away from the club. This follows significant investment in new signings like Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke, necessitating sales to balance the club's books.

Reports from TEAMtalk suggest that Romero's move to Atletico Madrid is expected to be finalized this weekend, while Spence is close to completing his switch to Inter Milan. These departures are just the beginning, as manager Roberto De Zerbi is looking to further trim the squad.

The same report indicates that four more Tottenham players could be heading for the exit before the transfer window slams shut. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is rumored to be leaving, with Juventus reportedly interested in bringing him back to Serie A.

Additionally, Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr, and young defender Ashley Phillips are also named as players likely to be on their way out. Newcastle United has previously shown interest in Bergvall, having had a bid rejected by Spurs earlier in the summer.

While the club has made some smart signings, the potential departure of key players like Romero and Spence might disappoint fans, especially given the team's recent struggles and lack of European football. However, further departures seem inevitable as Tottenham aims to reshape its squad.
