Secret meeting between Iranian Ambassador and Houthi leaders about Marib

Sources in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, said that the Iranian Ambassador to Houthis, Hassan Irloo, held a meeting with prominent Houthi leaders engaged in the hostile campaign against the oil governorate of Marib, northeastern Yemen.

The sources stated that Irloo's directives were crucial to the Houthi military leaders, regarding the importance of military decisiveness and entering the governorate of Marib, considering that this would make a big difference in the upcoming military operations, calling not to pay attention to international pressures that talk about the political process in Yemen.

The Iranian Ambassador spoke with the Houthis motivating them by saying that controlling Marib will facilitate rapid access to Mahra, and access to Mahra means that the Houthi forces have reached the Arabian Sea, and that means the joining of Yemen with the Strait of Hormuz and Iran. The sources said.

The militia leaders had complained to Irloo that they are suffering from poor supply and mobilization, in addition to the difficulties of Iranian weapons and equipment reaching them, especially after the smuggling was thwarted more than once by the forces on the West Coast or the international or Arab coalition forces stationed in Bab El-Mandab.
