A new Houthi blackmail method to recruit fighters

Having exhausted all their options, the Iran-backed Houthis are seeking new methods of recruitment and to avoid the great shortage of their elements on the battle fronts.

After having put pressure during the past periods on the head of the neighborhoods, the militia have resorted to recruitment by twisted methods.

The Houthi militia authorities in Amran governorate (North Yemen) set up a new mechanism for distributing domestic gas, during which they changed the gas representatives from their affiliates, with the aim of blackmailing citizens for their urgent needs for domestic gas, and linking obtaining it to the financial and human support provided  their battle fronts, according to what local sources confirm, not to mention the issue of their trading in citizens' shares of gas for the benefit of the militia's assets and leaders.

Amran governorate has come to the fore in the Houthi repeated targeting in recruiting its youth and pushing them to the fronts, as a human bank that supports their battles and is motivated by tribal pressures and the exploitation of ignorance and misinformation.
