Two people were killed and 120 injured when a gas cylinder exploded in a restaurant in the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi, police said on Monday.
The police added that out of the 120 injured, 64 sustained minor injuries and 56 sustained moderate injuries. The wounded were transferred to the hospital.
The explosion damaged several shops and the facades of six nearby buildings.
The civil defense evacuated four residential buildings as a precaution and is working to extinguish the fire, the police said.
The Authorities will offer temporary accommodation for the residents of the affected buildings until they can be completely secured.
