The US military downed an unidentified object over Alaska on Thursday night, the White House said.
The order to was given by president Joe Biden “out of an abundance of caution,” according to a US official cited by the New York Times.
The official did not confirm if the object was a balloon similar to the Chinese aircraft that was shot down over South Carolina last week.
