Looted Christian manuscripts discovered in Mosul kitchen

Police in Iraq who arrested a suspected member of Islamic State found a trove of 32 old books and manuscripts looted from churches across the city of Mosul.

The arrest was made on Tuesday in the Bab al-Jadid area of Mosul’s old city, much of which was destroyed by coalition bombing in the military operation that cleared the city of Isis. Police said that when they searched a house where the alleged Isis fighter had been found they discovered the books hidden in the kitchen.
