UK monitored Russian ships and intercepted aircraft: Defense ministry

British navy warships closely monitored four Russian vessels sailing through the Channel and the North Sea, while the country’s air force intercepted two Russian aircraft near the UK, the British defense ministry said on Thursday.

At no time did the Russian aircraft enter UK sovereign airspace, it added.
