Voices rise calling on change the UN envoy to Yemen

The Yemen government is considering submitting a request to the United Nations to change its envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, as a result of his failure to achieve any success on the Yemeni issues. political sources revealed

The UN envoy continues to ignore the ongoing violations of the Iran-backed Houthi militia on more than one level, whether humanitarian or economic. The sources said

The sources stated that, Griffiths, is unable to impose any of his visions on the Houthi militias, which he has become the lawyer and defender, and that his views are adopted more by Houthi spokespersons or their representatives on the humanitarian, military and economic negotiating committees.

According to the sources, Griffiths begged the Houthis to agree to any initiative or action he took in advance, and he was no longer able to compel the Houthis to view him with any of the documents of humanitarian and economic nature.

The government had suspended its dealings with the UN envoy before it gave him a final deadline, to modify his behaviors in his mediation efforts, but there has been no improvement or positive adjustment towards fair, unbiased mediation for either party.
