Liverpool legend Trent Alexander-Arnold might be heading back to the Premier League on a temporary loan in January, according to transfer insider Indy Kaila.
The 28-year-old England international is reportedly weighing up his options at Real Madrid after a tough start to his second season in Spain. Transfer news account Indy Kaila shared an exclusive update on X, suggesting a short-term Premier League loan is on the table, noting that Alexander-Arnold will "always have Liverpool in his heart."
While Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal are keeping tabs on the situation, a move back to Anfield is said to be a top contender, given his strong emotional connection to his boyhood club.
Alexander-Arnold's time at Real Madrid has become uncertain, with the former Liverpool star reportedly starting only three matches across La Liga and the Champions League this season. Increased competition from Denzel Dumfries and the versatility of Federico Valverde have limited his opportunities.
His recent game time reflects this challenge; he's played just 138 minutes across Real Madrid's last seven games in all competitions. He was an unused substitute in matches against RB Leipzig, Sevilla, Roma, Atlético Madrid, and Rayo Vallecano, featuring only briefly against Villarreal and Elche.
For a player used to being a regular starter at Liverpool, this lack of consistent minutes is a major shift. Despite his proven ability to create chances and control play with his passing, establishing a regular spot in Carlo Ancelotti's lineup has proven difficult.
