A Hollywood man was brutally attacked and fatally stabbed on the Walk of Fame after being initially targeted by a dog, prompting his family to demand justice.
Barry Henderson, 37, was reportedly waiting for a bus near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Las Palmas Avenue on May 20 when he was attacked by a dog. Surveillance footage shows Henderson running from the animal, with a group of men pursuing him. The video further depicts the group surrounding Henderson on the other side of the street, where he was subjected to a violent assault involving punches and kicks.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Henderson sustained multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after the incident. Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the killing. Fuller Bruce Lamont Jr., Hernandez Ifaul, and Garcia Robert Anthony were apprehended on the day of the attack. Anthony is alleged to have used a "small bat" to beat and strike the victim repeatedly.
The dog's owner, identified as 55-year-old Patrick Randall Perry, was arrested on May 28. Detectives believe Perry was responsible for stabbing Henderson. A man with the same name was arrested in the same vicinity in 2024 for an altercation outside a Church of Scientology building, though the age difference suggests it may not be the same individual.
All four men have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are being held in lieu of $2 million bail. It remains unclear if the case has been presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. Family members described Henderson as an innocent man who was simply waiting for a bus and was not the aggressor.
Local activist William Gude stated that he had previously expressed concerns about Perry and his dog, claiming the animal had bitten him in the past. Gude also reportedly provided the LAPD with video footage from 2024 showing a man identified as Perry allegedly threatening him with a collapsible baton while holding a dog on a leash similar to the one seen in the surveillance video of Henderson's killing. Police acknowledged opening an investigation at the time, but the outcome is not publicly known. Criminal court records do not indicate recent charges against Perry.
