PSG Enters Race for Liverpool Target Diomande, Complicating Transfer

Liverpool's chase for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has hit a major snag, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly gearing up to submit an opening bid for the highly-rated attacker. This development intensifies competition and adds another hurdle for the Reds.

According to reports from BILD, PSG is preparing to make their first official offer for the Ivory Coast international, casting a shadow over Liverpool's efforts. The Anfield club has already seen a €100 million bid rejected by Leipzig, and they were reportedly willing to spend around £86 million. However, Leipzig is holding out for a fee closer to £112 million.

PSG's interest could significantly shift the transfer landscape. The French giants have reportedly been in discussions with Diomande's representatives for weeks, with the Evening Standard suggesting the player might have already verbally agreed to terms with them. This could give PSG a decisive edge if they can meet Leipzig's valuation.

Liverpool, who view Diomande as a key component for the post-Mohamed Salah era, seem keen to avoid such a bidding war. While they have already secured Victor Muñoz, Diomande is considered a player with a higher ceiling. RB Leipzig, however, appears to be in a strong negotiating position, especially with the 19-year-old currently at the World Cup, where strong performances could further inflate his price tag.

talkSPORT confirms that Leipzig has rejected Liverpool's offer and is firm on their valuation exceeding £100 million. While Liverpool remains in contention, PSG's imminent bid adds urgency. The Reds may need to act fast to secure Diomande before he potentially moves to Paris.
