The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) has underscored the imperative to accelerate economic, financial, and administrative reforms, alongside bolstering recovery efforts and improving public services in Aden and other liberated governorates.
During a meeting chaired by PLC Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi, attended by all council members, discussions focused on domestic developments. This included progress on the government's program, the state budget, fiscal and economic performance indicators, and plans to enhance essential services while addressing associated challenges.
The council reviewed security developments across several governorates and measures being implemented to confront existing challenges. They commended the efforts of security and military forces in pursuing those involved in assassination crimes and reaffirmed commitment to enhancing security, stability, and counter-terrorism initiatives.
Recent governmental reforms were also lauded, notably the completion of the Higher Committee for Tenders and Bidding and the establishment of the General Authority for the Care of War Wounded. The PLC views these as significant steps toward promoting transparency, governance, and enhancing state institutional efficiency.
The PLC directed the government to expedite economic reforms, improve public resource management, control spending, and prioritize allocations. It also emphasized intensified efforts to combat smuggling and bolster financial and service stability.
The council reiterated its appreciation for Saudi Arabia's support to Yemen, including budgetary allocations, development and reconstruction projects, and the extension of the "Masaam" landmine clearance project, which contributes to humanitarian and economic stability.
The meeting also addressed regional political and security developments and their implications for the national situation. Reports on the implementation of previous decisions, completion rates, and obstacles were examined, with an emphasis placed on improving governmental performance and accelerating reforms in the coming phase.
