Juventus CEO Confirms Tottenham's Vicario is a Top Transfer Target

Juventus's new CEO, Giovanni Carnevali, has confirmed that the Italian club is eyeing Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as a key target for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Carnevali openly discussed the Bianconeri's recruitment plans, emphasizing their focus on securing a high-caliber goalkeeper. When pressed about potential successors for the number one spot, he acknowledged Vicario is high on their priority list, alongside other names like Aston Villa's Emi Martínez.

“There are more profiles on our list; we also think about Guglielmo Vicario and more,” Carnevali stated, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. This public admission signals Juventus's intent to pursue the 29-year-old, who has been a prominent figure in the Premier League for three seasons.

While Martínez is also considered, the significant financial commitment required for the World Cup winner makes Vicario a more financially sensible and attractive option for the Turin-based club. Speculation has been mounting regarding Vicario's future at Tottenham, especially after Fraser Forster's impressive performances during Vicario's injury absence, suggesting he could be the long-term solution. Furthermore, Tottenham's reported agreement to sign experienced keeper Martin Dúbravka on a free transfer adds to the competition.

With Forster expected to be Roberto De Zerbi's first choice, Vicario's departure from Spurs this summer appears increasingly likely. However, Juventus faces competition from other Serie A giants, with Napoli recently entering the race and Inter Milan reportedly holding a long-standing interest in bringing the Italian back to Italy.
