Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin is reportedly on the move, set to join Serie A club Fiorentina on an initial loan deal. The agreement includes a structured obligation to buy, signaling the end of the Romanian international's spell in North London after months of transfer speculation.
Sources like Sky Sports and club insider Alasdair Gold confirm that a breakthrough has been reached, with Fiorentina securing a package to bring the center-back back to Italy. The permanent transfer obligation is reportedly valued at £21.4 million (€25 million) and will be automatically activated if Dragusin meets a set number of competitive appearances for his new club.
Tottenham has also strategically protected the player's future value by including a 10% sell-on clause. This ensures Spurs will receive a tenth of any profit Fiorentina makes on a future sale of the 24-year-old defender. Verbal agreements are said to be in place, with formal paperwork expected to be finalized swiftly.
This move marks the latest transfer activity for Spurs, who are undergoing a significant summer rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi. The club has seen several incomings, including free transfers for Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka, alongside a £52 million investment in Jan Paul van Hecke. Record-breaking deals for midfielders Mateus Fernandes (£85m) and Sandro Tonali (£100m) have also bolstered the squad.
Dragusin's time at Tottenham has been a mixed bag. Despite arriving with a strong reputation and famously rejecting Bayern Munich to play in England, he struggled to secure consistent first-team minutes. A severe long-term knee injury further hampered his progress. A return to Serie A, where he previously had success with Genoa, Juventus, and Sampdoria, now offers him a prime opportunity to regain form and relaunch his career.
