Forget manually rinsing your pool robot; the new Beatbot AquaSense X comes with an automated cleaning station that handles the dirty work for you.
The AquaSense X robot itself looks much like its predecessor, the AquaSense 2 Ultra, with minor tweaks to the basket design. Setup is pretty straightforward: attach two side brushes, place the robot onto the AstroRinse cleaning station, and wirelessly pair them. You'll then need to connect to the Beatbot mobile app via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Early setup hiccups might involve firmware updates that briefly disrupt pairing, but re-establishing the connection is a simple process.
In the water, the AquaSense X performs similarly to the 2 Ultra. It excelled at picking up about 97 percent of test debris from the pool floor, tackling steps and platforms with ease. However, its surface cleaning remains a weak spot, collecting less than half of floating debris due to its slow speed, even with helpful side brushes.
The robot boasts a 13,400 mAh battery, offering up to 4.5 hours of run time on the pool floor. The companion Beatbot app provides a variety of cleaning modes, allowing customization for floor, wall, waterline, and surface cleaning. An AI Quick Mode uses the onboard camera to actively seek out debris, which is handy for quick touch-ups.
The real game-changer is the AstroRinse station. After the robot finishes its cleaning cycle and parks itself, you manually place it onto the station. Within seconds, a powerful, loud rinsing system kicks in. A top-mounted arm swings into place and blasts the robot's filter basket with high-pressure water for three minutes, capturing debris in a built-in net basket. Any excess water drains through a mesh screen at the bottom. This automated cleaning drastically cuts down on manual maintenance, though you'll need to ensure the station has access to water, power, and drainage, and that it's conveniently located near the pool.
