Sunderland is making a move to bolster their attack by opening talks to sign exciting Argentine winger Matías Soulé from AS Roma.
According to TEAMtalk, the Championship club has initiated discussions for the 23-year-old attacker, who is reportedly a top priority target. Soulé's potential transfer is being driven by Sunderland's sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, who previously signed the player for Roma and is keen on a reunion.
Initial contact has been made with Soulé's representatives, and the player himself is reportedly open to a move to England. However, securing the deal won't be straightforward, as Roma considers Soulé a key player and is unlikely to let him go cheaply.
Reports suggest Sunderland might need to splash out around £30 million to secure Soulé's signature. The versatile attacker, capable of playing anywhere across the front line, has contributed 12 goals and 13 assists in 81 appearances for Roma, and regular first-team football in England could unlock his full potential.
