Manchester United manager Michael Carrick is reportedly looking to reintegrate Marcus Rashford into the squad for next season, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Rashford, who spent time on loan at Barcelona and Aston Villa in previous seasons, is currently with the England squad at the World Cup 2026. His stint at Barcelona was particularly impressive, netting 14 goals and providing 10 assists across all competitions, though the Catalan club has apparently decided against a permanent move.
Fabrizio Romano shared via X that Rashford is expected to return for pre-season training at Old Trafford, with Carrick eager to work with the forward. Romano also clarified that while an exit isn't completely off the table, it would only be considered if a top European club makes a concrete offer, dispelling rumors of a move to Turkey.
"Manchester United plan for Marcus Rashford to return to training for pre season as Carrick wants to work with him. Exit still possible but only in case of European top club bids; no Turkey move planned," Romano tweeted.
While PSG and AC Milan have shown interest in Rashford, these have not yet translated into firm offers. His improved performances since leaving United could signal a good opportunity for his return, potentially reigniting his career after falling out of favor under previous managers.
On his best form, Rashford is a proven talent, as demonstrated by his success at Barcelona. Carrick's potential guidance could be key in helping him rediscover his peak performance and contribute once again to the Manchester United team.
