Tareq Saleh Calls for Unified Efforts to Restore State

Major General Tareq Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and commander of the National Resistance, has declared that the current phase necessitates the unification of all military, tribal, political, and media resources in a singular national battle to reclaim state institutions and end the Houthi militia's rebellion. He emphasized that the time has come to decisively conclude this conflict, which has persisted for over eleven years.

Saleh articulated these views during a meeting with sheikhs and notables from the Al-Wazi'iyah district in Taiz governorate. The discussions centered on national developments and the crucial role of tribes in bolstering the campaign to restore the state and strengthen national unity. He highlighted that Yemenis have been engaged in a more than eleven-year struggle to defend their nation and Arab national security against the Iranian agenda. Saleh asserted that the Houthi militia does not represent a national project but rather executes directives linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, aiming to entangle Yemen in conflicts that serve Tehran's interests rather than those of the Yemeni people or the Palestinian cause.

He pointed out the Houthi militia's claims of a blockade on areas under their control are contradicted by reality. Saleh noted that the port of Hodeidah has received a greater volume of ships and goods than the ports of Aden, Mukalla, and Nishtun combined. He also stated that Sana'a airport operated daily flights until the Houthis provoked an Israeli strike on Yemen Airways planes on the tarmac, under the guise of war against Israel and support for Gaza.

Saleh further alleged that the Houthi militia is imposing the actual blockade on Yemenis and targeting the national economy by preventing oil exports. This action has exacerbated the economic and living crisis, directly impacting the lives of citizens across various governorates. He urged the residents of Al-Wazi'iyah district to continue their national role and actively contribute to the effort of restoring the state on all fronts, cautioning against succumbing to partisan or regional sedition or external agendas designed to dissipate efforts and distract from the primary objective.

The commander reiterated Yemen's firm support for Saudi Arabia and the Arab and Islamic blocs in confronting Iranian interference, asserting that the Iranian project in Yemen would meet the same fate as it has in other arenas, culminating in defeat. In terms of development, Saleh affirmed the National Resistance's ongoing commitment to implementing service and development projects in the West Coast regions, indicating that Al-Wazi'iyah district will be a priority for upcoming projects, aligned with available resources and the needs of its inhabitants.
