Odesa Port Damaged in Russian Attack, Kyiv Reports

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated on Sunday that the nation's Odesa seaport sustained damage following an overnight Russian assault, which also resulted in eight individuals being injured in the city.

President Zelenskiy characterized the attack as a deliberate effort by Russia to undermine global food security. He emphasized the critical role of Odesa's seaports as the primary conduit for Ukraine's substantial agricultural exports.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported that Russian forces targeted power infrastructure within the Odesa region. This offensive action led to a substantial number of the port city's inhabitants experiencing power outages throughout the night.

The Ministry also confirmed that electricity supply had been reinstated for approximately 90,000 consumers. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges to Ukraine's export capabilities and critical infrastructure amidst the conflict.
