After testing over 50 pairs of earbuds, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro have officially become my daily driver, excelling in comfort, sound quality, active noise cancellation (ANC), and call clarity, all at a more accessible price point.
While the out-of-the-box sound profile, known as Soundcore Signature, leans heavily on bass, this can be easily adjusted. The Liberty 5 Pro offers five preset sound profiles, an eight-band custom equalizer, and a HearID mode that tailors the audio to your specific hearing preferences through an interactive quiz. Once tuned with the Soundcore Balance preset or a custom HearID profile, the sound becomes genuinely enjoyable, rivaling higher-end options like the AirPods Pro 3 and Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, especially considering the significant price difference.
The ANC performance is truly top-tier, featuring standard, transparency, adaptive, and off modes. You can even fine-tune the ANC strength from one to five, either through the charging case or the Soundcore app. Only the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds and Sony WF-1000XM6 managed to deliver more noticeable noise cancellation in my testing.
Where the Liberty 5 Pro truly shines is in its call quality, which is a dramatic improvement over most competitors. Even with ambient city noise, phone calls are significantly clearer, making conversations more pleasant. The earbuds are comfortable, fit securely, and boast an IP55 rating, making them resistant to dust and light rain, suitable for a wide range of activities.
Despite minor drawbacks like slightly larger bud size and less perfect sound clarity compared to premium alternatives, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro offers exceptional value. For earbuds that cost nearly $100 less than many top recommendations, their combination of features and performance makes them a standout choice, potentially becoming the best value earbuds available soon.
