Authorities are conducting separate investigations following the discovery of two bodies in Carson within a 24-hour period near the Dominguez Channel.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was alerted on Tuesday around noon when a golf course patron reported a possible body floating in the Dominguez Channel. On Wednesday morning, authorities recovered a second body near the flood control channel in the 2000 block of East Sepulveda Boulevard.
The two locations are less than ten miles apart. However, officials stated there is currently "no evidence connecting the two death investigations."
The body recovered on Tuesday, found in the 20000 block of South Avalon Boulevard, was in a state of severe decomposition. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's field investigator identified the deceased as female, but an age could not be immediately determined. An autopsy is pending, and the death investigation is ongoing.
Details regarding the man found deceased on Wednesday remain scarce. He was identified as an adult and pronounced dead at the scene. The area where his body was discovered is an industrial zone characterized by shipping facilities and a train yard.
The Homicide Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is overseeing both cases.
