The United Nations refugee agency has reported that over 100,000 individuals have been internally displaced due to the intensified conflict in Yemen. Thousands more have sought refuge by sea in Djibouti.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) stated that humanitarian access continues to be a significant obstacle. UNHCR noted that insecurity, damaged infrastructure, telecommunications disruptions, and restrictions on movement are all impeding operational efforts.
The conflict has seen Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi forces escalate attacks on Saudi cities and energy facilities. Concurrently, they are advancing along Yemen's Red Sea coast toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a critical maritime trade route.
In response to the Houthi offensive, the Saudi and Yemeni air forces have conducted bombardments targeting Houthi positions.
