Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has commented on Viktor Gyokeres' future, following reports that the Arsenal forward has been discussing a potential move away from the club. While interest from Serie A and the Saudi Pro League is noted, Romano suggests Arsenal has been reluctant to let the player go.
Gyokeres, who has reportedly discussed a possible exit, has apparently garnered attention from clubs in Italy and Saudi Arabia. However, Romano's current understanding is that Arsenal is not eager to part ways with the Swedish international, seemingly downplaying the immediate transfer speculation.
Romano acknowledged that Gyokeres' start to the season has been challenging, with limited playing time. "It’s not been an easy start of the season for Gyokeres in the sense that the game time has been limited," he stated. "So obviously there are already people talking about what’s going to happen with Gyokeres, what’s going to be the future for Gyokeres."
He further elaborated on Arsenal's stance, recalling their position during the summer transfer window. "What I can tell you is that in the summer there were clubs interested in Gyokeres – clubs but really top top clubs, especially from Spain – asking about the situation of Viktor Gyokeres and the answer from Arsenal was always the player is not for sale. We trust Gyokeres, we want Gyokeres to stay." Romano added that Arsenal believes Gyokeres will be crucial, especially in tense matches where a physical striker is needed.
While Arsenal has reportedly closed the door on Gyokeres' departure in the summer of 2026, Romano cautioned that the future is unpredictable, and significant offers could change the situation.
