Rashford to Everton? Ex-CEO Sparks Transfer Rumors

Reports suggest Everton might be eyeing a surprise January transfer for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, with former Toffees CEO Keith Wyness claiming the possibility is being seriously discussed.

The England international has faced a challenging start to the current season at Old Trafford, struggling to secure consistent game time under manager Michael Carrick. Wyness believes a move to Everton could provide Rashford with the chance to reignite his career.

Speaking to Football Insider, Wyness indicated that a potential switch to Everton is gaining traction. He highlighted Rashford's past loan spells at Aston Villa and Barcelona as evidence that a change of scenery could be beneficial for the 28-year-old.

"This is definitely being talked about and quite strongly," Wyness stated. "I think it could work, and I think being close to where he is in Manchester, just along the M63, could also benefit him greatly. We’ve seen Jack (Grealish) moving across that way as well, and when he’s fit, Jack is certainly a big asset for Everton. So I think Rashford would be a very interesting signing, and I’m hearing there’s a lot of smoke here; it’s definitely being discussed. I wouldn’t be surprised to see something happening in January."

Rashford's future has become a significant talking point due to his struggles this season. He is yet to score in any competition and has found it difficult to build momentum with limited minutes. Manchester United themselves are enduring a disappointing run, currently sitting 14th in the Premier League, adding to the uncertainty surrounding Rashford's position.

For Everton, securing a player with Rashford's experience would signal a major ambition for the club, especially as they look to boost their attacking options. A move in January could offer Rashford the consistent playing time he needs to rediscover his top form.
