A Houthi-Islah plan to smuggle weapons from Marib, gives the Houthis upper hand

The Islah party (the Muslim Brotherhood branch in Yemen) is seeking to open a direct road between Marib and Baydha governorates to secure the entry corridor for the Houthis to enter the governorate and smuggle weapons. Informed sources revealed.

The sources said that an agreement between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Houthis was approved by a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Sultan al-Arada, who in turn leaked his written directives to the media under the pretext that he informed the Presidential Command Council, the UN envoy and the International Red Cross about this with the aim of giving the matter an official status, and that it is part of the peace initiative in Yemen to alleviate the suffering of the citizens. But the truth is otherwise.

According to the sources, after the failure of the Islah, in the Al-Halhal road deal, the link between Abyan and Baydha had been opened to facilitate the transfer of the Houthis into Abyan governorate to smuggle heavy weapons from the governorate to the Houthis and Al-Qaeda and vice versa, it resorted to an alternative plan with the aim of completing coordination with the Houthis, to hand them over the Marib, to screw the Yemeni Presidential Council.

In late August, informed sources revealed that the military campaign in Abyan governorate dealt a painful blow to the Yemen's Muslim Brotherhood, the Houthis and the terrorist Al-Qaeda who were preparing to overthrow the Abyan governorate and hand it over to the Houthis and terrorist groups.
