Informed sources reported that the Houthi militia had merged their Martyrs Foundation with cancel the Authority of the Affairs of the Families of Martyrs of the Revolution, for reasons related to corruption, looting and an attempt to obliterate the identity of the martyrs of the Yemeni revolution, September 26 and October 14.
The sources said that the Houthis assigned Taha Jaran (the director of the Martyrs Foundation before it was reintegrated) as the current head of the authority to implement the reintegrated and confiscate everything related to the authority.
In the same context, leaked documents revealed that the Houthis seized YR1.8 billion of the pensions of beneficiaries in the Authority of the Affairs of the Families of Martyrs and Fighters of the Yemeni Revolution.
The documents obtained by Yemen Details show that Houthi corruption affects all ministries, institutions and sectors in their areas of control, and that six Houthi officials and leaders are involved in cases of embezzlement, forgery and abuse of influence in the authority established by Law No. 5 of 1993, which is affiliated with the Presidency of the Republic of Yemen.
The documents also show the involvement of nine other Houthi leaders and officials in the forgery of official documents and the embezzlement of YR73.8 million in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the period between 2015 and 2019.
The documents show the of YR18.2 million in the Public Works and Roads Office in Baydha Governorate, in which two Houthi leaders in the governorate were involved.
