The Yemeni Organization for Combating Human Trafficking said that the horrific crime of the Ministry of Health of the Houthi militia in Sana'a, which prepared for the death and injury of dozens of children with cancer, demonstrated the manipulation and trafficking of patients' tragedies and pains with brutality and opportunism.
The organization considered that the disgraceful press conference of the militia's health leaders was the apparent part of a wide operation trying to close the file and protect the killers of sick children, by trying to obscure the facts, exonerate those involved and restrict the crime against an unknown person.
The organization expressed its shock at the blatant immorality of the Ministry of Health of the Houthis, calling for the formation of an independent investigation committee in which the World Health Organization and UNICEF would participate, noting that the crime opened serious files for other crimes committed against Yemeni patients.
The organization confirmed that it had obtained documents revealing organized smuggling of medicines, as well as refilling medicines of unknown origin in dens inside the country, and printing covers and pamphlets with recent dates that have been legalized.
International organizations called for urgent action to reveal the facts of the horrific massacre against children, not to allow the militia to obscure the facts, to prosecute those involved in this tragedy before local and international courts, and to re-evaluate the medicine market in Yemen, whether in militia-controlled areas or liberated areas, so that the country does not wake up to a new disaster.
