Yemen's Jawf governor reveals the role of the Islah Party in rebelling against legitimacy and empowering Houthis

The governor of Al-Jawf, Sheikh Hussein Al-Aji Al-Awadi, revealed the rebellion of the former governor of Al-Jawf, with the support of the leaders of the Islah Party, against the legitimacy decisions to hand over the leadership of the province after they refused to surrender to the leadership council’s decision to appoint him as governor of the province.

Sheikh Al-Awadi said in a post on Facebook, "We were surprised by the refusal of the previous administration of the province to deal with the committee formed by the Ministry of Local Administration to receive and hand over between us and the predecessor governor.

He stressed that "during the past period, our directives were not responded to, and the previous administration continued to manage the affairs of the governorate and continue the financial disbursement through the Central Bank branch in Marib, as if nothing had happened

He pointed out that the Islah party’s reluctance and rebellion against the decisions of the legitimacy is no longer the first, as it was preceded by a similar one in 2015, after gunmen objected to its arrival in the capital of the province commissioned by the leadership of the legitimacy and the Arab coalition, under the pretext that their arrival in Hazm al-Jawf would provoke the Houthis to open a new battle at a time when the battle was raging in Al Yatamah area.

He stressed that the dispute today hinders the liberation of Al-Jawf and enables Houthis to consolidate their influence in the governorate and continue their project to seize the lands of the Dahm tribe.
