Calls for an international tribunal to investigate the assassination of the Yemeni journalist Mohammed Al-'Absi

The General Union of Yemeni Journalists (GYJ) called on Wednesday for the formation of an international tribunal in the case of the assassination of the Yemeni journalist, Mohammed Al-'Absi, as the Houthis are trying to dilute the case and manipulate its priorities and investigations with the judicial authorities.

The (GYJ) held directly responsible for the assassination of the journalist Al-'Absi, the two Houthi leaders, the official spokesman for the group, Mohammed Abdul Al Salam, and the head of the Houthi Military Intelligence Department, Abu Ali Al-Hakim, as they are the main culprits in the crime.

Before his assassination, Al-'Absi had revealed in his articles their involvement in corruption crimes and the supply of Iranian oil derivatives to Yemen through fake companies affiliated with them.

The (GYJ) called for the interrogation of two key figures in the case and two witnesses to it, namely businessman Ammar Tawfiq Abdul Rahim and the journalist Mohammed Ali Al-Emad, whose silence on the crime is considered direct involvement.

It also called on all local and international organizations, human rights and journalists to unify their demands for the establishment of a special court for the case of Al-'Absi, imposing international sanctions on those involved in the crime, and the accountability of those involved in crimes targeting Yemeni journalists.
