8 people died and dozens were injured during a stampede over distribution of Ramadan aid inside a school in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, which is under the control of the Houthi militia. Local sources told Yemen Details.
The injured were taken to Al-Thawra Hospital in Sanaa for treatment, and the number of deaths is expected to rise.
Local sources and eyewitnesses said that Houthi gunmen stormed the aid distribution site and fired at the committees in order to prevent the distribution and terrorized the people, which caused the stampede.
Medical sources said that the causes of death so far are mostly live gunfire.
The sources held the Houthis responsible for the incident, as they gathered thousands in a building and refused to organize the large crowds and distribute aid, which caused the stampede that led to this tragedy.
