The Houthi militia continue to seize modern and limited medical devices and equipment from government hospitals and transfer them to private hospitals owned by militia leaders.
Doctors at Hospital 48 in the capital Sanaa accused Houthi Health Minister Taha Al-Mutawakil of confiscating a number of modern medical devices and equipment, despite their limited availability and ownership by the hospital, and transferring them to Al-Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital in exchange for the Houthi Minister Al-Mutawakil receiving 30% of the hospital's shares.
The hospital is owned by Dr. Al-Houthi/Khaled Ma'sar, the Secretary of the Supreme Medical Council and the President of the 21st September University, who is said to be related to the Houthi Minister of Health, Taha Al-Mutawakil, with whom he is rumored to have a partnership in the hospital.
