Al-Zahraa Company and its role in importing Iranian and Iraqi oil to fund the Houthi war

Documents obtained by the Platform for Tracking Organized Crime and Money Laundering in Yemen (P.T.O.C) in its report "Houthis' Secret Financial Entities" showed that companies owned by Qusay Ismaeel Ahmed Al-Wazeer and his extended family (Al-Zahraa Group) were involved in purchasing Iranian and Iraqi oil through fraudulent documents circumventing procedures and international sanctions against the export of Iranian oil, and smuggling it into Yemen to provide the Houthi group with free oil derivatives, which the Houthis use to finance their local, regional, and international wars.

The platform said that Al-Wazeer, a businessman affiliated with the Houthi group, is involved in the oil trade through various companies, most notably "Al-Zahraa Company" and "Fuel Oil for Importing Oil Derivatives" which he owns with several of his relatives. He is linked to oil trading through Iranian, Iraqi, and Turkish financial groups and networks.

Al Zahraa Trading Company is one of the prominent companies working with the Houthi group that controls oil trade imports in Yemen, especially in areas under Houthi control.

Documents from the Central Control and Accountability Agency affiliated with the group reveal corruption of hundreds of millions of dollars carried out by Al Zahraa Company and the Al Wazeer family with other Houthi leaders in Hodeidah Governorate, especially in supplying state institutions with oil derivatives.

The Platform exclusively publishes some financial transfer documents in this report, as well as owning records and contracts of oil deals related to Qusay with individuals linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Iraqi figures.

The threads traced by Qusay's company led the Platform for more information and details regarding companies facilitating financial transfers for the Houthi group and commercial companies inside and outside Yemen.

Financial transfers for Fuel Oil affiliated with Al Wazeer show a connection to a financial network for the Houthi group in financial operations, including a group of limited companies some of which have been coerced by the Houthis in one way or another to work for them or have their assets seized. Some have become aligned with the Houthis in all financial and commercial aspects, including money laundering through these financial companies, enabling the militia to acquire vast financial resources that have helped prolong the war and conflict in Yemen.

It is worth mentioning that Saudi Arabia has listed Qusay Al Wazeer among the individuals involved in funding the terrorist Houthi group
