Morocco: French consul in Tangier commits suicide

The newly appointed French consul in Tangier was found dead, Thursday, in his house. Denis Francois, appointed on September 15 by a decree of President Emmanuel Macron, is believed to have committed suicide, Le360 reported Thursday.

According to the same source, the diplomat would have «hanged himself in his room», at around 7 am this morning.

Denis Francois joined the French consulate in Tangier in October. Before replacing former French consul to Tangier Thierry Vallat, Francois worked as an adviser at the French Foreign Affairs Ministry.
