Israeli Strike Kills Two at Gaza Seaport Cafe

An Israeli airstrike killed at least two Palestinians and wounded 12 on Sunday at a Gaza cafe, according to health officials. The strike occurred at a cafe located at the seaport, which was reportedly filled with individuals observing public holidays.

There has been no immediate comment from Israel regarding the incident. An existing ceasefire, brokered in October by U.S. President Donald Trump, has reportedly been ineffective in halting Israeli military actions in Gaza.

Negotiations between Israel and Hamas are currently at an impasse regarding the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. This phase involves Hamas's disarmament and the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

The ceasefire terms have left Israel with control over more than half of Gaza's territory, while Hamas governs a small coastal region. The cafe that was targeted on Sunday was situated at the emergency seaport, a temporary floating dock off the coast.

According to figures from Gaza health officials, approximately 900 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire began. These figures reportedly do not differentiate between combatants and civilians. During the same period, the Israeli military has stated that four Israeli soldiers have been killed by militants.
