Fatal Shooting Near Universal Studios; Suspect At Large

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred approximately one mile from the Universal Studios Hollywood entrance, resulting in one fatality. The suspect remains at large as of Sunday afternoon.


The incident took place around 11:20 a.m. in the vicinity of the Universal/Studio City Station Park and Ride lot, located in the 10800 block of Ventura Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The victim, a 40-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene due to gunshot wounds. Further details regarding the victim have not been released.


The suspect is described as a male in his 30s. He reportedly fled the scene in an unknown direction. Police are exploring the possibility that the shooting may be gang-related as their investigation continues.


A spokesperson for Metro confirmed that the shooting occurred in the area surrounding the station but was not directly related to Metro operations.
